Raising Children Who Trust Themselves
Building an internal compass for safety, boundaries and self-advocacy
14th July, 2026
12PM – 1PM AEDT
As adults, we can't always be there to protect the children we love.
Our hope is that one day they'll recognise when something doesn't feel right, trust that feeling, and know what to do next.
In this practical Lunch & Learn, we'll explore how interoception, our ability to notice and understand the body's internal signals, forms the foundation for emotional regulation, healthy boundaries, self-advocacy and personal safety.
You'll learn why helping children tune into their bodies is one of the most powerful protective factors we can offer them, particularly for neurodivergent and highly sensitive children.
You'll walk away with:
• A clear understanding of what interoception is and why it matters.
• Practical strategies to help children recognise and understand their body signals.
• Tools to strengthen emotional regulation through body awareness.
• Ways to foster healthy boundaries, self-advocacy and confidence.
• Everyday activities that help children recognise when something doesn't feel right and respond safely.
• Practical ideas you can use immediately at home, in the classroom or in the therapy room.
Perfect for parents, teachers, educators, psychologists, counsellors, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, social workers, support workers and anyone supporting children.
The safest children aren't simply the ones with adults watching over them.
They're the ones who have learned to recognise, trust and respond to their own inner signals.
A recording will be sent to all registered participants.
